It’s accomplished. We spent months getting our shipment of items (backpacks, bags, and clothing – thanks to Tatonka and the DAV National Climbing Team) to Chile. All the bureaucracy, the back-and-forth of countless documents and applications, lasted seemingly forever. Thanks especially to the people on-site who stood before customs many times and always helped us. Now we know the procedure and how to obtain customs relief. It will take a certain amount of time each time, but we will reach the kids at the Laura Vicuña School in Puerto Montt, led by the Salesians Don Bosco. In Chile, young people with intellectual or physical disabilities receive little support. The school offers them a chance at a better future, from care to training.
