Heinzi is currently traveling in Chile and is visiting a new project in the capital on our behalf. The local Salesian project supports more than 120 young people between the ages of 12 and 17.
In the centers, the adolescents receive specialized psychological support as well as social and legal counseling, complemented by skills training and educational programs. In addition, all basic needs are covered, including essential services, nutrition, healthcare, and clothing.
The social workers also work closely with the families to rebuild relationships and, where possible, enable the young people to return to living with their families. The project furthermore includes an emergency night shelter and day centers.
Another key focus is the support of single mothers.
